The
eighteenth-century Marconi's Pavilion built as an extension to the Wilanow
Palace that was originally intended for servants' rooms has changed its
function over the years. After raising the building by an additional storey and
adding an office and a terrace, the Marconi Pavillon became a residential and
office building. In the recent years, its interiors have been used as a
painting conservation studio and a photographic atelier, as well as the offices
for the museum staff. The current investment tasks contemplate the adaptation
of the object to the exposition and storage functions, creation of Storage
Galleries and an Open Laboratory for Painting Conservation.
The creation of specialized storage areas for sensitive collections deserve
special attention in the project that is now being prepared in KVP.
